Kamran M. Mirza is the Godfrey D. Stobbe Professor of Pathology Education at the University of Michigan. He serves as the Assistant Chair of Education and the Director of the Division of Education Programs in the Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories. An award winning educator and mentor, Dr. Mirza has been the recipient of several dozen local, regional and national teaching awards.
Michael Ditillo, DO, FACS, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery with the Division of Trauma, Critical Care, Burns and Emergency Surgery. He is also the Program Director for General Surgery Residency for the University of Arizona, College of Medicine. Dr. Ditillo earned his undergraduate degree from Long Island University and his Medical Degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and was Fellowship-trained in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. After finishing his Fellowship, Dr. Ditillo served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital for five years before moving to Pittsburgh. In Pittsburgh, he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in the Division of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. He was also the Director of the Trauma Critical Care Unit, the Associate Director of the Critical Care Fellowship Program, and the Assistant Residency Director of the General Surgery Fellowship Program. Currently he serves as the Program Director for the Surgery Program, Associate Program Director for the Acute Care Surgery Fellowship Program, and the Co-Lead for Faculty Development for the School of Medicine with the University of Arizona.
Dr. Cassandra Bradby is an EM physician and Assistant Professor at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. As a graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, she has dedicated her career to improving diversity and inclusion in medicine through mentoring and education. After residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Bradby headed back south to Greenville, NC where she now serves as the Residency Program Director and Vice Chair for Diversity and Inclusion for the Department of Emergency Medicine at ECU Health Medical Center. In addition to her work in North Carolina, Dr. Bradby serves as the Immediate Past President of the Academy for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Medicine for the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Aubrey Jackson is a psychiatry resident interested in perinatal psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry. She hosts First Line (@firstlinepodcast), a medical education podcast, and has significant experience working 1-on-1 with medical students preparing their applications for residency. Dr. Pragyat Futela, an intern at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, is a graduate of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. He conducted research on Ventricular Tachycardia ablation outcomes at Mayo Clinic Rochester as a research fellow in the department of Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Futela is passionate about advancing medicine and finds fulfillment in mentoring and teaching his juniors. He aspires to pursue a career as a cardiologist in the future.
Dr. Rebecca Nosal Stenersen is a PGY-4 psychiatry resident at HCA East Florida Division - Woodmont Hospital, where she has served as Chief Resident. She is set to begin a forensic psychiatry fellowship in July. Her research interests include the use of artificial intelligence in psychiatry, and she co-presented findings at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) conference in 2023. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Stenersen completed her undergraduate and medical education at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida, participating in a dual admission program to earn both her B.S. and D.O. degrees. She is also the co-host of the Table Rounds Podcast (@tableroundspod).
Dr. Bendik Stenersen is a PGY1 resident currently completing his Transitional Year at Lakeland Regional Medical Center and will begin his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) in July. He earned his B.S., M.B.S., and D.O. degrees from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Dickey is a general surgery resident at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Currently,
she is in her second year of dedicated research in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the
University of Miami. Her research focuses on investigating the pancreatic tumor
microenvironment for novel mechanisms, which play a role in chemoresistance. When not in the
operating room or lab, she enjoys training and competing in marathons.
Andrea Done, DO, MS was born and raised in Peru and moved to Northern Utah in 2004. She
received her BS in Psychology with a Neuroscience minor from Weber State University, her MS
in Biomedical Sciences from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine, and her
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine –
Southern Utah. She is current OBGYN PGY-1 at University of Michigan Health-West.
When she's not working, Andrea loves spending time with her husband and sons, reading
fantasy books, crocheting uteruses, going to fantasy balls, or hiking with her rescue
dog, Marcel.
Joseph is a first-year EM resident and earned his DO and MPH degrees from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2024. He and his fiancé, both children of immigrant parents and first-generation doctors, couples matched at Lakeland Regional Health, where Joseph is in the emergency medicine residency program and his fiancé in internal medicine. In his free time, Joseph enjoys writing music, acting, traveling, and spending time with his fiancé and their 14-year-old Husky!
Amil Agarwal is a current Orthopaedic Surgery PGY1 at Johns Hopkins. He attended the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He is a co-founder and was the past president of the Medical Student Orthopedic Society (MSOS), which aims to provide medical students equal access to resources to help them navigate the field of orthopaedic surgery.
Dimpie Shah is a PGY-1 Categorical Anesthesiology resident at Montefiore Medical Center who will soon start her CA-1 year in July. She graduated from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she explored her passion for medical education. She was selected as a curriculum fellow to restructure the anatomy education. Her other professional interests include cardiothoracic anesthesia, critical care, and global health. Outside of work, Dimpie enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Uche smith is an internal medicine resident in Baptist health UAMS. She is Nigerian and attended medical school in the Caribbean. She is passionate about medicine, teaching and her community which happens to be wherever she finds herself as she has moved around a lot and has been sharing her journey on snapchat @olayimika_smith. She aims to be a blessing by helping imgs as she knows the journey can be lonely and scary. Her hobbies include hosting parties (blame my Nigerian roots), reading and eating.
Dr. Gianchandani is born and raised in an Indian-American household in New Jersey. This native of South Brunswick Township attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree. While trying to figure out if medical school was for her or not, she earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Rowan University. In 2016, she finally decided she would like to pursue medical school and she enrolled at Ross University School of Medicine and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2020. While she was applying to Internal Medicine Residency, during her gap year also earned a Master of Business Administration degree and Master of Public Health degree. She worked at Montefiore Medical Center to complete her post-doctoral training in Internal Medicine Residency from July 2021 to June 2024. She is currently a fellow at the same institution, but different campus continuing her graduate medical education in Geriatrics. She plans to pursue Cardiology in the near future. Some of interests include: cooking, traveling, and fashion blogging.
Having attended medical school in the Caribbean, Andrea, a first-generation Latina physician, understands the unique challenges faced by those on similar paths. This experience ignited her passion for mentorship and sharing valuable tips and insights through her Instagram page, @rotatewithdre. She is currently pursuing her MBA while adjusting to intern year of residency. Beyond medicine, she is dedicated to advocating for her community, particularly the Latinx population. Her mission is to bridge the gap created by social determinants of health and dismantle racial biases within the healthcare system. Patricia Marie M. Perez de Tagle or Ish, as she prefers to be called, is an Internal Medicine PGY-1 at Monmouth Medical Center. Ish has a wide array of experience both in clinical medicine and in academic education. Throughout her career, she has also developed many marketing campaigns and promotional events for her organizations to raise awareness for causes that she is passionate about. Ish enjoys crocheting with a nice cup of tea, but can also be found strength training in the gym or getting lost on a wilderness hike.

Arti is a 2023 graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and a PGY-2 Family Medicine resident at Wright State University. Although Arti started off her academic journey on a rough note, struggling with her grades and mental health, she quickly turned around and accomplished her goals throughout medical school. Some of her cherished accomplishments are making Dean’s list, matching at her #1 residency program, and prioritizing her mental well-being.

I am a newly minted OBGYN attending (graduated just a few short weeks ago... WHAT?!). I matched via SOAP in 2019 to a transitional year after an initially unsuccessful match to OBGYN that year, and later went on to complete OBGYN residency after a successful match the subsequent year. I'm extremely passionate about mentoring and education. Beyond patient care at the bedside, I loves sharing knowledge on women’s health with the community and guiding aspiring healthcare professionals. This journey has fueled my commitment to compassionate care and learning, and I wanted to create a bridge between patients and women's healthcare professionals in order to start important conversations about patient autonomy, reproductive justice, birth trauma, and obstetric morbidity and mortality. Megan is a PGY-3 general surgery resident at Franciscan Health General Surgery Program. She completed her preliminary General surgery PGY-1 year at UIC. Dr. Humphrey graduated in 2014 from the University of Miami with a double major in Religious Studies and Biology, then after 3 gap years went on to pursue her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is a current PGY-4 dermatology resident at the Harvard Combined Dermatology program and is passionate about the intersection of medicine and media, skin of color, procedural, and laser/cosmetic dermatology, as well as community outreach and health care equity.
Dr. Puneet Anand is currently a PGY-1 in Pediatrics and also serves as the Education and Research Co-Chair for the American Medical Women's Association - Physicians Against Trafficking Humans committee. Her commitment to health equity began in medical school when she founded a student-based volunteering organization to improve healthcare access for underserved communities. This experience led to a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by sex workers in accessing healthcare and their reintegration into society. Through her work as an educator and advocate, Puneet hopes to make a tangible difference in the lives of survivors of trafficking and other forms of exploitation and in reaching a more equitable healthcare system for
the most vulnerable in society. She is currently pursuing a residency in Pediatrics with a focus on enhancing healthcare outcomes for vulnerable populations, including victims of child abuse, immigrant communities, and individuals with disabilities. Hailing from India, Dr. Puneet Anand completed her medical education in her home country before making the decision to apply for a residency in the United States, driven by a desire to stay close to her family in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in the field of healthcare disparities, having completed numerous research projects in this area. Dr. Anand's ultimate goal is
to make a significant impact in the medical community, using her expertise to address healthcare inequities and provide help to those who need it most.
Zain is passionate about medical missions, mentoring, and advocating for medical students, residents, fellows, and physicians transitioning into residency and fellowship programs. He enjoys golf, snorkeling, and being a physician influencer and entrepreneur. With a focus on aesthetic medicine, he aims to make people beautiful through various beauty procedures. Based in Chicago, he is enhancing patient-physician interactions to boost patient satisfaction. He is also the Chair-Elect of Illinois State Medical Society RFS Governing Council, Founder of IMG Helping Hands Corporation & Director at American Academy of Research and Academics.
Shelley Jain is a general surgery resident at Wellspan Health currently on her research years in fetal and pediatric surgery. She completed a preliminary surgery year before her categorical general surgery residency and is passionate about demystifying the journey from “unmatched” to “matched”. Dr. Animesh Upadhyay is a driven medical professional with a focus on women's health. Hola everyone! I’m a proud Costa Rican (Pura Vida) and first generation American, College graduate, and the first Doctor in my family. I was a former college and professional Baseball Player for the Arizona Diamondbacks (Rookie Ball and Single A), stand up comedian prior to med school and current entrepreneur (training athletes with beach workouts or baseball lessons) helping them gain scholarships across the country as well as earning some extra cash due to my non lucrative residency salary. I’m a family man with 3 kids (1 kid per Step Exam) and I’m a huge advocate for my Latino community as well as my IMG’s. I’m an ambassador and mentor for multiple IMG outlets and I’m looking forward to continuing to breakdown the IMG stigma till all IMG’s are seen as equals to US MD’s and DO’s.
Dr. Cullen Lilley is a pathology resident (AP/CP) at UCLA Health in Los Angeles, CA. He earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and is among one of the founders of PathElective.com—a free, modular pathology education platform. He earned his master’s degree in microbiology from the University of Florida (‘19) during which time he worked as a microbiologist contracted through IHRC at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Lilley is deeply involved with national/international initiatives aimed at promoting pathology as a profession including his involvement with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a member of the social media committee and patient champion steering committee, the Association for Academic Pathology (AAPath) as a founding member of the PathElective editorial board with, and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) as an active junior member serving on various working groups and subcommittees over the years.
Meredith Herman, DO completed a B.S. in Biomedical Laboratory Science and graduated medical school from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a Post-Sophomore Pathology Fellowship at the University of Toledo Medical Center during medical school. Through her passion for MedEd and Pathology, she has spearheaded webinars, blogs, social media content, and a mentorship program through Matchtopath.com. She serves on the Ad Board and as a Resident Representative for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Resident Representative for U of M for the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Vice-Chair of the Residents Forum for the Michigan Society of Pathology (MiSP), and mentors medical students through the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). Dr. Masood Mohammed is an Emergency Medicine Physician and the Founder of Med School Moose, an educational brand that creates high yield resources for medical students and residents. Dr. Mohammed is originally from South Florida but currently works in Arizona where he serves as the Associate Director of Education for the Abrazo Health Emergency Medicine Residency. Prior to joining Abrazo Health, Dr. Mohammed completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts as well as a Medical Education Fellowship at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. Outside of medicine, Dr. Mohammed enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and playing video games.
Dr Jain is a Canadian-born resident physician in family medicine graduating in 2025. She holds a medical degree from the American University of Antigua. Throughout her residency Dr. Jain has demonstrated exemplary leadership having been elected as the resident trustee for the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians. In this capacity she fervently advocates for advancement of family medicine in New Jersey. IN addition to her advocacy efforts Dr Jain has dedicated significant time to assisting fellow international medical graduates navigate the residency matching process. Through her multifaceted contributions, she aims to enhance the health outcomes of her patients and their families.
Dr. Zeel Shah, who recently graduated as Chief Resident in the Rural Family Medicine Residency at ECU Health/Brody School of Medicine, is beginning her career as a hospitalist with a commitment to rural healthcare advocacy. She has received the Rural Advocacy Award and has been featured on Spectrum News1 Charlotte and ABC WCTI 12. Dr. Shah represented her program at the AAMC meeting in Washington, DC, and has also met with several senators on Capitol Hill to advocate for healthcare improvements. Her passion for global health has led her to participate in mission trips to Zambia and the Dominican Republic, providing care to underserved and rural communities. Dr. Shah also shares her medical journey and insights through YouTube videos, aiming to motivate and inspire others in the field.
