Ah yes, the nervous system: one of nature’s most complicated mechanisms. Brave are those who seek to understand this science and braver still are those who seek to master it. With that in mind, we are excited to announce the release of our newest product family: Neurology. We’ve worked with a team of top residents in their prospective field led by board-certified physicians to create SmartBanks for the AAN RITE and for the ABPN Board Certification Exam. Both of these SmartBanks are mapped to the official blueprints set forth by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) respectively. Don’t just take our word for it, take advantage of our FREE 5-day trial!
TrueLearn already works with multiple medical specialties, so we were delighted for the opportunity to expand into new areas. What drew us to Neurology, however, was that we did not feel as if these residents were getting the test preparation they needed, as there simply were not enough high-quality test prep materials for them on the market. Like a fateful signal zapping between synapses, we were struck with the question, “How can we help our Neuro Residents?”. After all, this line of medicine is no joke, and we understand that total competency and comprehension of subject matter are extremely important. Thus, Neurology SmartBanks were born. The Importance of the AAN RITE
In a study conducted by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), performance on the AAN RITE is an accurate indicator of performance on the ABPN Board Certification Exam (Read the study here). We saw this as an opportunity to provide more resources, further ensuring the success of neurology residents who utilize our SmartBanks.
Every neurology resident, regardless of the program year, will receive the same AAN RITE . The expectation for this exam is gradual improvement and comprehension. It should not be taken lightly, however, as it is a direct reflection of where you stand in your residency.
Improve Retention with Refresher Tests that Follow Didactics
Worried you aren’t retaining information as well as you should? Your program directors have the ability to design tests that coincide with their didactics. You can keep up with your retention of high-yield material and brush up on your weak areas. TrueLearn serves you relevant content, so you don’t waste time and brain capacity on material that is not crucial for your success and for your career.
Understanding “The Testing Effect”
Did you know that retrieval practice as a study technique has been proven to help residents retain 50% more information a week later than repeated study and concept mapping methods? It’s true, and the proof is in the testing success. TrueLearn serves you content based on your performance as you progress through the SmartBanks. You will see more variations of content in your weak areas, ensuring continual improvement and information retention.
